JARD 2018 Features

Local Teacher Instruction Program. In addition, participants will be mentored by local musicians from the workshop’s Local Teacher Instruction Program (LTIP). The program seeks to foster a greater sense of community amongst musicians, both young and old.A highlight of this year’s program is the nightly jam sessions hosted at key jazz hangouts in Singapore by this year’s LTIP musicians. These jams aim to build bridges amongst the workshop cohorts that will last beyond 5-day program.

The entire experience will culminate in a public performance at the Singapore Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre on 1 April 2018. The students’ showcase is supported by the Embassy of the United States of America.

New in 2018! Faculty Concert : 28th March
JARD 2018 is proud to introduce an exclusive Faculty Concert into its program. The
NY starstudded faculty will perform for JARD participants, their family and friends. Selected local Jazz cats will also perform alongside the JARD faculty. This concert will become the anchor and premier performance of JARD 2018 and beyond. We envisage this Faculty Concert to be well attended and any venue hosting this should see itself recognised throughout the JARD Workshop as a key partner. We expect the hosting venue will also benefit from any food and beverage sales to the audience during the concert. We look forward to establishing a collaborative partnership with a venue that wants to be connected with Jazz and arts in Singapore.

New in 2018! Jam Sessions : March 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th
JARD 2018 is proud to introduce open jam sessions during the workshop week. Jam sessions for workshop participants will be held on 4 nights at selected partner venues. Local jazz musicians selected under the LTI Program will host these jam session, where JARD participants will get a chance to play with not only local jazz cats but the visiting faculty musicians. Our venue partners for jam sessions will not only benefit from the F&B sales to JARD jam participants but will also be recognised on our website and associated marketing/ promotional videos as partners promoting jazz and arts in Singapore.
